🌞 The Sunny Idea That Refused to Quit — The Story of Zun Rays

Zun Rays was born out of a sunny idea—literally. After one too many jogs, hikes, and gardening sessions under the blazing sun, I (hi, I’m Celeste 👋) kept thinking:

“Why can’t I carry my essentials… without lugging a bag or losing stuff in my waistband?”

I wasn’t dreaming of a fashion brand. I was just tired of frustration. And tired of feeling overlooked by athletic wear that didn’t understand women like me—women who live active lives, who care about style and function, and who don’t want to compromise.

So I got to work.

🧵 From Scrubs to Sleeves

By day (and night), I worked in the ER. It’s a high-intensity job—and every paycheck went straight into funding my wild little dream. No investors. No shortcuts. Just bootstrapping, grit, and a belief that I could create something better.

I tried sewing sleeves myself (bless my first crooked seams). I tested materials, again and again—too scratchy, too stiff, too sweaty—until I finally found the one: buttery-soft, breathable, stretchable, fast-drying, and perfect for real movement.

💡 One Idea. Five Years. And a Cease & Desist. 😅

Zun Rays has taken five years to get right. Not just the pockets (which are patent-pending 🙌), but every curve, stitch, and seam of the sleeve.

And just when I thought I had some momentum?
BAM. A cease and desist. From none other than the Tampa Bay Rays. ⚾
Apparently “Rays” was too close for comfort.

Did I crumble? Nope.
I reached out, explained my mission, stood my ground—and came to an agreement.
Because when you believe in something, you fight for it.
